Coastal Valleys EMS Agency News
Over the next few weeks Coastal Valleys EMS Agency will be implementing a number of design changes to things like the EMS Agency website, EMS Agency correspondence and Coastal Valleys ALS accreditation cards. The recent experience with the patch redesign project highlighted the deep identification local EMS providers have with the image on the current EMT and Paramedic uniform patches. In response to this, Coastal Valleys EMS will be replacing its current star of life logo with a slightly modified version of the design found on the current EMT and Paramedic certification patches.
As many of our providers are already aware, the Coastal Valleys EMS website has been undgergoing revision for a number of months. With the decision to move toward the above mentioned design for the EMS Agency, future changes and revision of the EMS Agency website will start to reflect these new designs.
One of the first things likely to be noticeable to Paramedics in the Coastal Valleys region is the change in accreditation cards. Coastal Valleys EMS will no longer be issuing the blue paper ALS accreditation cards. Effective immediately, Paramedics accrediting in the Coastal Valleys region will be issued plastic wallet sized ALS accreditation
cards instead. Below are examples of how this design will appear.

Cards are printed on the same type of durable PVC as those issued by the State for Paramedic and EMT certification. Paramedics will receive these cards the next time they renew their accreditation.
Another change that providers may notice is higher quality certification patches working their way into circulation. Providers can also expect a general migration of EMS Agency layouts towards the new design, including the administrative and treatment policy manual.

Medical emergencies may occur at time or location and require a coordinated effort involving multiple agencies, personnel and facilities to ensure a rapid response and high standard of care. The Coastal Valleys Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system has been designed to incorporate these agencies and facilities into a dynamic emergency medical care delivery system that is focused on rapid access to emergency locations, patient assessment, stabilization of patients and their transportation.
